The countdown
—
until Halloween
What's waiting on Halloween night
- Molly Midnight. A doll at the curb who talks to trick-or-treaters, asks what they've dressed up as, and has opinions about every costume. All kid-friendly, she promises. Mostly.
- A house spirit at the door. Nexus greets everyone who comes up the path. Brave visitors get a joke. Very brave visitors get two.
- The possession. At some point in the evening, something else takes over the lights. It moves room by room. When it's done, the Hive glows red, and it breathes.
Haunted all month
Through October the website is haunted too: fog drifts across the pages and the odd bat flaps past. If you see it, you're in the right place. (If your device asks for less motion, the ghosts politely hold still.)
Safety first, fright second
Everything at the Hive on Halloween is made for kids: spooky, never scary-scary. No fast flashing, nothing that jumps out, and Molly is under strict instructions to be nice.
"I'm not haunting the house. I AM the house. Big difference."Nexus
